Lydford Caravan & Camping Park is a private site affiliated to the Caravan Club. We welcome caravans, motorhomes, folding campers (max shipping length 8.5m) and tents. We offer hard standing or grass pitches with electric hook up plus a separate area for tents offering wonderful panoramic views of Dartmoor.
We have full toilet and shower facilities with dedicated dishwashing, laundry, and a disabled toilet/shower wet room.
We welcome quiet well behaved dogs on leads only (max 3 per unit).
Lydford has much of interest to offer all within a short walk from the site. Spectacular National Trust Lydford Gorge is a 3.5 mile (5km) circular walk in the deepest gorge in the south of England.
Lydford Castle, a 9th century former prison, plus ancient St Petroc’s Church are well worth a visit, and the village itself is steeped in history and is very pretty. The Granite Way cycle route runs near the site, offering a fairly level track to Okehampton some nine miles distant. We are ideally located midway between the north and south coast of Devon and just a few miles from the border of Cornwall with all their many attractions, places of interest and wonderful beaches.
The Castle Inn offers all day dining just an easy stroll into the village from site. There are many other interesting hostelries within walking and short driving distance. There is a 2 hourly bus service to Tavistock in the south and Okehampton in the north and beyond, which stops just 100m from the site entrance.
Our small on site shop stocks daily essentials, newspapers to order, Calor and Camping Gaz together with a range of camping items.
