From Google…..
We first stayed here in August for eight days and loved it,just stayed again for another nine days and absolutely enjoyed our stay.We had a problem with our car breaking down the day before we were going and Ann and Alan were so good about it on leaving, they are lovely kind people and we can’t wait to come back again when the site re opens. It’s in a fantastic location for visiting other areas too…..I highly recommend!
What a lovely place to set up camp! A stones throw from Dartmoor. The Holiday site managers were friendly and very helpful, nothing was to much trouble for them.
Spent 4 days here at the end of September, and had a great time. It has got to be one of the best campsites for walking across Dartmoor, and even has a superb view of the tors from the top of the site. The pitches are a good size, and it is t is neat and clean. The showers provide instant hot water which never runs out – and they are free. I have read they are too hot – total rubbish. It has a dog walking circuit and a small licensed shop. In the immediate area there are two good pubs within walking distance with good food. I will certainly be back.
Nice site overlooking Dartmoor. Camping at top of site. Good showers/toilets and a small shop. WiFi available but you need to buy access so ask when you book in. Five minutes to the pub! If you walk here the Granite Way from Okehampton takes you over Dartmoor. Fab views all round.
Owners couldn’t be more helpful, they even found and printed out the details of the nearest Mazda main dealers for us as the car is playing up. Nice pitch and clean toilets. Good TV reception & wifi for £5 a week.
Went tent camping here for 4 days with our pup and had a great time! The people that run it are very nice.
Facilities: Clean and nice (except the hand dryer in the womans restroom didn’t work). Lots of bathroom stalls, plenty of showers, and they have a dish washing area with racks.
Location: Awesome! Right next to the gorge which is a must see. Lots of pubs and other trails too.
Campground: Well maintained. They have a dog walking path with lots of bins that I appreciated too.
Would definitely return!
Peaceful site, friendly and helpful owners and staff, bus stop 2 minutes walk away, great facilities block, Lydford Gorge within walking distance, Dartmoor and Granite Trail nearby.
Just had a 2 night stay here and would thoroughly recommend the site. Very clean and tidy and were made to feel very welcome. Can’t wait to visit again
This truly is a beautiful site in all ways. Grass is kept perfectly as are the toilets and showers plus the staff go out of their way to be helpful. Go on try it.
Lovely quite place, dog friendly and good enough shop. Nice showers and facilities.
So close to the gorge and a lovely pub for food.
Spacious pitches, lovely location with lots to see in the area. Feel the toilet block was not as clean as when we stayed previously, missing shower curtains, shower stools, hand soap dispenser broken etc
I love this little camp site. Peaceful well run site, in a lovely little village with an excellent pub, good walks and other good pubs within walking distance. The view from the top of the site on a nice evening is sublime.
Stayed here for three nights and loved it. It is a lovely little site with friendly and helpful wardens. Excellent location for the moor and great cycling. Village pub is vibrant with good food too. Lydford gorge is not to be missed. Will definitely return

We came here with friends and were going to do some walking around the area. Unfortunately it rained heavily so that was abandoned the first day. There is a pub just down the road, which is perfect for a drink after a walk or a meal. The site is very well laid out and the toilets and showers were spotless, the water hot and a hairdryer is available as well. It’s an ideal location for walking and not too far from the moor as well. Would definitely return.
We have stayed on this beautiful ,well kept and expertly run site for a couple of weeks and we are quite baffled by the comments left by a family that stayed here too in August. There have been no bbq’s the whole site is very clean and staff are really helpful at all times. We have visited this site for many years and will be back very soon

Well run site, great location, very peaceful.
Last couple of years camping holidays have been marred slightly by feral kids, inconsiderate adults and stray dogs. What a welcome relief at Lydford. If you want a quiet site, with outstanding views and the ability to sit and watch the bats in the evening, then Lydford is the place for you. Not once did I have to listen to someone else’s music, endure screaming kids running round or have to kick a dog out of my tent. Staff were around, but very much ‘in the background’ – a smile and a wave as we drove in and out, but very unobtrusive. However, if you are unable to be considerate, I’m sure you would be spoken to. Showers and toilets were all spotlessly clean, but are perhaps in need of an update. There are plenty of them, so never needed to queue. Great pub in the village too!
