Having just spent a week here in July 2014 I can only say that for my wife and I this was one of the best sites we have stayed at, it might not be children friendly, no play facilities on site for them but there are plenty of beaches within easy drive both on the North Coast and South Coast of Devon. For the rest of us there are plenty of things to do for all walks of life. For us it was the absolute peace and quiet of the site.
This is a wonderful site – spotless facilities – even if they are a little dated, everything works! Exceptionally friendly wardens – really helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Location is perfect – ten minutes walk from the stunning Lydford Gorge – a fantastic way to spend a couple of hours. Five minutes from the start of the traffic free section of the Granite Way – a one hour cycle into Oakhampton on tarmac route through stunning scenery with hardly any gradient (disused train line) Will definitely be coming again soon.
The new wardens on this site (Hazel, Ian, Joan & John) and volunteer (Baz) were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble even helped setting up the caravan to ensure the best view.
They were always smiling and offered advise on local attractions and places to visit. The facilities were exceptional, extremely clean (even better than all Caravan Club sites). Would recommend a visit now this site has new wardens. We will definitely visit again!
