We first stayed here in August for eight days and loved it, just stayed again for another nine days and absolutely enjoyed our stay.We had a problem with our car breaking down the day before we were going and Ann and Alan were so good about it on leaving, they are lovely kind people and we can’t wait to come back again when the site re opens. It’s in a fantastic location for visiting other areas too…..I highly recommend!
Went tent camping here for 4 days with our pup and had a great time! The people that run it are very nice.
Facilities: Clean and nice (except the hand dryer in the womans restroom didn’t work). Lots of bathroom stalls, plenty of showers, and they have a dish washing area with racks.
Location: Awesome! Right next to the gorge which is a must see. Lots of pubs and other trails too.
Campground: Well maintained. They have a dog walking path with lots of bins that I appreciated too.
Would definitely return!
Just had a 2 night stay here and would thoroughly recommend the site. Very clean and tidy and were made to feel very welcome. Can’t wait to visit again
What a lovely place to set up camp! A stones throw from Dartmoor. The Holiday site managers were friendly and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them.
Owners couldn’t be more helpful, they even found and printed out the details of the nearest Mazda main dealers for us as the car is playing up. Nice pitch and clean toilets. Good TV reception & wifi for £5 a week.
Peaceful site, friendly and helpful owners and staff, bus stop 2 minutes walk away, great facilities block, Lydford Gorge within walking distance, Dartmoor and Granite Trail nearby.
This truly is a beautiful site in all ways. Grass is kept perfectly as are the toilets and showers plus the staff go out of their way to be helpful. Go on try it.
Lovely quite place, dog friendly and good enough shop. Nice showers and facilities.
So close to the gorge and a lovely pub for food.
Spent 4 days here at the end of September, and had a great time. It has got to be one of the best campsites for walking across Dartmoor, and even has a superb view of the tors from the top of the site. The pitches are a good size, and it is neat and clean. The showers provide instant hot water which never runs out – and they are free. I have read they are too hot – total rubbish. It has a dog walking circuit and a small licensed shop. In the immediate area there are two good pubs within walking distance with good food. I will certainly be back.
Nice site overlooking Dartmoor. Camping at top of site. Good showers/toilets and a small shop. WiFi available but you need to buy access so ask when you book in. Five minutes to the pub! If you walk here the Granite Way from Okehampton takes you over Dartmoor. Fab views all round.
Reviews from over the years
I’m not usually renowned for visiting club sites due to their pricing…
Hidden gem Great site, views, location and facilities
Friendliest Site Ever. On arrival we had a great welcome by the friendliest staff we have ever encountered
it is its situation that makes it so special. You can walk to Lydford Gorge (National Trust) through the lovely village.
This has to be one of the best, if not the best site we have stayed at.
